Semi-truck strikes, kills man on I-40 WB near Shawnee

POTTAWATOMIE CO., OK – A tow truck driver died Tuesday night after a semi-truck struck him along the interstate near Shawnee, reports KFOR News. 

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the westbound side of I-40 near both Dale and Shawnee.

Police say the victim was working on his tow truck when an 18-wheeler crashed into him.

The man died at the scene of the collision. Authorities identified him as Kyle McCullough.

The driver of the semi-truck fled the scene of the accident, but authorities located him soon after.

A full investigation is underway.
