Semi vs. pickup crash on I-44 WB at Kickapoo Tpke in Luther kills 1

LUTHER, OK – An 82-year-old Choctaw man died on Monday night after an 18-wheeler struck his pickup truck along the interstate to the northeast of OKC.
According to KOCO News 5, the incident happened just before 8 p.m. on the westbound side of the Turner Turnpike near the junction with the Kickapoo Turnpike. This is just south of Luther Elementary School.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim lost control of his 2019 Dodge Ram, rotated, and hit a barrier. A Peterbilt semi-trailer then struck the pickup truck, killing the driver of the Dodge at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as James A. Hall. The investigation is ongoing.
