TEXAS CO., OK – A 16-year-old boy died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash along a rural roadway in north-central Texas County, reports Fox 25.
The incident happened some time at night along County Road D north of Straight and Guymon. This isn’t far south of the state border between Oklahoma and Kansas.
Police say that the teen lost control of his westbound 1998 Dodge Ram while swerving to avoid a pothole. His pickup truck left the roadway, overturned, and crashed into a ditch, throwing the unrestrained driver from the vehicle.
It’s unclear if the victim died at the scene or after transport to the hospital.
A full investigation is underway.
