PAYNE CO., OK – A 48-year-old man died early Monday after his vehicle crashed along a state highway east of Stillwater, reports OKC Fox 25.
The incident happened just after midnight on State Highway 108 in Payne County. Police haven’t yet provided the specific location of the accident. Highway 108 runs from north to south from Ripley to Pawnee.
The investigation thus far indicates that the driver of a southbound 1994 Ford F150 lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, hitting several mailboxes, an electric pole, and a tree. The vehicle then overturned.
The force of the collision threw the unrestrained driver from his pickup truck, and he died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Sean Hadfield.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
