Solo crash on Hwy 39 in southwest Pottawatomie Co. kills 1

POTTAWATOMIE CO., OK – A driver died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident along the highway near Wannette on Saturday evening, reports News 9.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. on OK-39 between Wannette and Lexington, which is southeast of Oklahoma City.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a driver lost control of their vehicle, veered off of the highway, and crashed into a tree.

The crash killed the driver at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their name to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
