Solo crash on I-244 near Sheridan in Tulsa injures 1

TULSA, OK – A man went to the hospital with critical injuries on Wednesday morning after his pickup truck crashed along the interstate in east Tulsa.

According to News 9, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-244 near Sheridan Road, which is just southwest of Mitchell Elementary School.

The investigation thus far indicates that the driver of a 2011 Dodge RAM 3500 lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier. The driver then became pinned in the wreckage and required extrication.

Medics transported the victim, identified as Waylon Day, to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
