SUV rear-ends semi at S Mill and SE 49th in Pryor, killing passenger

PRYOR, OK – One person died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi in west-central Mayes County, reports Fox 23 News.

Police reported to South Mill Street and Southeast 49th Street around 2 p.m. This is just north of the Walmart Supercenter on the south side of town.

The preliminary investigation indicates that an SUV rear-ended an 18-wheeler at a red light, killing a passenger in the SUV. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.

No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the accident.

Motorists likely experienced congestion in the area of the accident while crews attended to the victims and cleared the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
