Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian at SW 59th and S Walker in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person died following a pedestrian crash on Sunday night in the South Walker area of Oklahoma City, reports KFOR News 4.

The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 59th Street and South Walker Avenue, which is west of I-35 and north of I-240.

The investigation indicates that a vehicle struck a pedestrian near the intersection. It’s not yet clear if the pedestrian was using a designated crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Medics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where they died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene to render aid and speak with authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
