Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on Hwy 51 near E 131st in Coweta

COWETA, OK – A pedestrian died Wednesday after a vehicle struck them along the highway in western Wagoner County, reports Fox 23 News.
The incident happened along Highway 51 on the north side of Coweta between South 289th East Avenue and East 131st Street South.
The investigation indicates that the victim was crossing the highway in the dark and outside of a designated crosswalk when the crash occurred.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
It’s unclear if the driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and speak to police, but no charges are pending at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
