Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on Hwy 51 near Ingalls

PAYNE CO., OK – A 32-year-old man died on Tuesday morning after a vehicle struck him along a state highway in central Payne County.
According to KOCO News 5, the incident happened around 4:50 a.m. on OK-51 just east of Bethel Road, which is near the Outlaw Battle Historical Road.
The investigation thus far indicates that the pedestrian, identified as Charles Mullins, stepped into the path of a westbound 2010 Nissan Titan and was struck. The man died at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the Nissan did not sustain injuries in the accident.
A full investigation is underway to determine why the pedestrian stepped in front of the vehicle.
