Vehicle strikes, kills woman on NW 2nd St in Lawton

LAWTON, OK – Officials have reported a fatality in connection to a pedestrian crash that happened last week in Lawton, reports KLAW 101.

The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Northwest 2nd Street, which is near the Lawton Town Center shopping center.

Police say that a vehicle struck 67-year-old Debra Pennington along 2nd Street. It’s unclear if Pennington was walking along the roadway or attempting to cross the street.

Medics transported Pennington to an area hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the crash.

It’s not yet clear if the driver involved in the accident will face charges.

A full investigation is underway.
