Wrong-way collision on I-40NB near I-35 kills 1, injures 1

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 35-year-old woman died early Saturday morning in a wrong-way crash along the interstate in central Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident happened around 4:05 a.m. on the northbound side of I-40 near I-35, which is just south of the James E. Stewart Golf Course.
Police say that a southbound 2011 Ford Mustang entered the northbound lanes of traffic and collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Kia Sorento.
The driver of the Kia died at the scene of the accident after their vehicle fell from the overpass. Medics identified the victim as Taundra Washington.
Medics transported the wrong-way driver to the hospital with serious injuries.
