Wrong-way crash involving semi on US-277 near Cyril injures 1

CADDO CO., OK – A 42-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision involving a semi along a highway in southeast Caddo County Monday, reports The Express-Star.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on US-277 just south of Cyril and north of Fletcher.
The investigation indicates that for unknown reasons, the victim’s southbound vehicle entered the northbound lane of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound 18-wheeler.
Medics airlifted the driver of the wrong-way vehicle, identified as Mindy Cates, to a hospital in Oklahoma City. She was admitted with critical injuries.
Police say that the 71-year-old driver of the semi did not sustain injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
