Wrong-way crash on Hwy 9 near 60th Ave SE kills 1, injures at least 2

NORMAN, OK – A 62-year-old woman died, and at least two other people were hurt Friday in a multi-vehicle wrong-way collision along the highway in Norman.
According to KFOR News 4, the incident happened around 7:04 p.m. on Highway 9 between 48th Avenue Southeast and 60th Avenue Southeast. This is southeast of Lake Thunderbird State Park.
Police say the driver of a westbound vehicle entered the eastbound side of Highway 9 and collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle. Three other vehicles then crashed into the first two vehicles.
The wrong-way driver died after transport to a local hospital. Police have not yet released her identity to the public.
Medics transported a female driver from the second vehicle with critical injuries and a child with non-critical injuries to the hospital.
It’s unclear how many people sustained injuries from the other three vehicles and if any of them required hospitalization.
