2-vehicle wrong-way crash kills 1 in Delaware Co.

DELAWARE CO., OK – A woman died on Thursday afternoon in a wrong-way crash on the highway south of Jay, reports KTUL 8 Tulsa.
The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. on US-59 near CR-445, which is just northwest of BC Unity Campus.
The investigation indicates that the 45-year-old driver from Concord lost control of her northbound vehicle on a curve and veered into the southbound lane. She was then struck by a 1999 Ford F-250.
The victim, identified as Rhonda J. Burke, died after transport to a local hospital.
The driver of the Ford did not require hospitalization.
Police say that speed may have been the greatest factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
