Pedestrian fatally hit by driver on I-35 near NW Norman

CLEVELAND COUNTY, OK — A woman died early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Interstate 35 near northwest Norman, according to KOCO.
The fatal incident took place near Exit 114 to West Indian Hills Road, shortly after authorities received welfare calls at about 1:30 a.m.
Few details have been released at this time, but officials said two other drivers were able to avoid striking the female pedestrian, who was seen walking on the interstate. However, moments later, she was hit by a third driver.
The victim died as a result of her injuries at the scene, confirmed first responders.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation.
