Driver rescued after vehicle crashes into sinkhole in NE Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Fire crews responded to Oklahoma City’s John F. Kennedy area Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a sinkhole, according to KOCO.
Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department said the accident occurred in the area of Northeast 4th Street and Martin Luther King Avenue at about 7:00 a.m.
Few details have been shared, but a water main break appeared to have caused a sinkhole near the intersection. According to authorities, the driver was able to climb up onto the vehicle’s roof before they were rescued by fire crews.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
