5 hospitalized after OK Dept. of Corrections bus, truck head-on crash in Lexington

LEXINGTON, OK – Four people on board the Oklahoma Department of Corrections bus and another driver were hospitalized after a head-on crash involving a pickup truck.
The collision happened on Highway 39, KOCO reports. According to preliminary details, the truck driver, going east, had allegedly crossed over into the centerline on Highway 39 west and crashed head-on into the westbound bus.
Out of 14 inmates on board the bus, two inmates, a bus driver, and one corrections officer were transported to the hospital. The pickup truck driver was also hospitalized, taken to the emergency room by ground.
By 4:20 p.m., one inmate and one officer were said to be in stable condition. The other inmate was sent back to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
An investigation was started.
