Pedestrian struck, killed in SW OKC; Driver returns after fleeing scene

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was hit and killed in southwest Oklahoma City this morning by a driver who initially fled the scene.

KFOR reports that the fatal pedestrian accident happened at SW 61st Street and May Avenue just after midnight. Police arrived to find the male victim lying in the roadway.

They say the driver who hit him initially fled the scene before returning.

Authorities do not think speed or intoxication were factors in the crash. It is unclear whether the driver will face charges.
