Driver hospitalized after hitting strip mall at 61st and Garnett

TULSA, OK – The driver of a pickup truck crashed into a strip mall on Friday morning in southeast Tulsa, reports Fox 23 News.
The accident happened in the area of East 61st Street and South Garnett Road, which is east of US-64 and just north of the Southbrook neighborhood.
Police say the driver choked on water while driving, began to lose consciousness, and drove into the side of the building.
Medics transported the driver to an area hospital for evaluation. No serious injuries were reported, and there were no other passengers in the pickup truck at the time of the crash.
The building sustained structural damage in the wreck and will require repair.
A full investigation is underway.
