Driver injured after falling asleep, crashing on OK-3 near Ada

PONTOTOC CO., OK – A 20-year-old man went to the hospital Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash along the highway between Stonewall and Ada, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on the northbound side of OK-3, approximately nine miles to the south of Ada. This is in central Pontotoc County.
Police say the driver veered off of the highway after falling asleep, at which point his vehicle struck an embankment.
Authorities identified the driver as Austin Coles. They say that Coles went to the hospital for treatment of internal injuries to the trunk. He is stable condition.
