Man on scooter killed in Del City hit-and-run on Sunnylane

DEL CITY, OK – A 49-year-old man died last Wednesday night after a hit-and-run vehicle struck him on his scooter in Del City, reports KFOR News

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the area of 2200 South Sunnylane Road, which is between Mallard Drive and Southeast 22nd Street.

Police say a silver GMC Envoy struck the scooter ride from behind on Sunnylane Road. The GMC then fled west on Mallard Drive.

The scooter rider died at the scene of the collision. Authorities identified him as Dion Edward Hodge.

Officials reported on Tuesday that they had located the GMC Envoy that they believe was involved in the crash. It is still unclear if they have located the driver of the vehicle.

A full investigation is underway.
