Police investigate collision on Turner Tpk at MM 216.5 in Sapulpa

SAPULPA, OK – Officials closed the eastbound side of the turnpike on Tuesday morning after a late morning accident, reports Fox 23.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. on the eastbound side of Turner Turnpike, or I-44, near mile marker 216.5, which is just west of U.S. Route 66.
The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation. Police say that a vehicle struck another car after trying to use the shoulder for passing.
It’s not yet clear if anyone was injured in the accident. Officials closed the roadway for over an hour while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
