Vehicle strikes, injures trooper on I-40 and Cimarron Rd near Yukon

CANADIAN CO., OK – A state trooper and two other people were hurt Thursday when a vehicle struck both the trooper and the vehicle he had stopped on the interstate near Yukon.
The accident occurred sometime around 1:55 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-40 near Cimarron Rd, which is just northeast of Clarence E. Page – Cimarron – Yukon Municipal Airport.
The investigation indicates that the state trooper stopped a vehicle for unknown reasons along I-40. During the stop, a black Lexus hit both the trooper and the other vehicle.
The trooper went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Medics transported the other two drivers to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
A full investigation is underway to determine what might have caused the driver of the Lexus to lose control.
