Vehicle strikes, kills female pedestrian on I-44 at S 33rd W in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A 29-year-old woman died on Tuesday evening after a vehicle struck her on the interstate in the Mountain Manor area of Tulsa, reports KTUL News 8.

The incident happened around 4:58 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-44 at South 33rd West Avenue, which is east of the junction with I-244 and west of US-75.

Police say that a 2016 GMC Sierra struck the woman as she walked along I-44. They identified the driver as a 43-year-old male.

Medics transported the pedestrian to the hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities identified her as Jessica Camacho.

The investigation is ongoing.
