Woman fatally hit by car on I-40 near Oklahoma City Convention Center

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A woman died early Friday in a pedestrian crash while crossing traffic lanes on Interstate 40 near Oklahoma City’s Riverside area, according to KOCO.
The fatal incident occurred on the eastbound lanes near South Shields Boulevard, south of the convention center and Scissortail Park. It was first reported shortly after 1:45 a.m.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said the woman was crossing the eastbound interstate on foot for unknown reasons when she was hit by a vehicle.
The driver, who was not reported hurt, cooperated with investigators at the scene.
All eastbound lanes were blocked for nearly two hours during the emergency response and investigation.
