Wrong-way crash with semi on I-40 near Elk City injures 1

BECKHAM CO., OK – A 22-year-old man went to the hospital after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler on the interstate near Elk City, reports KECO 96.5.
The incident happened just before 7 a.m. on I-40 east of Timber Creek Bridge Route 66 and between Sayre and Elk City.
The investigation so far indicates that a westbound 2007 Chevy Cobalt veered into the eastbound lanes of I-40 and crashed head-on into a semi-truck.
The driver of the Chevy, identified as Jonahan E. Discus, went to the hospital with critical injuries.
The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
