Single-vehicle crash on Hardesty Rd near Harrison in Shawnee kills driver

SHAWNEE, OK – A man died in Shawnee on Tuesday night after losing control of his vehicle and crashing along a major roadway, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident happened around 11:25 p.m. on Hardesty Road, or EW 118, near Harrison Road, which is east of Fire Lake Casino and Entertainment Center in southeast Shawnee.
Police say that 38-year-old Jason Stout Sr. of Perry lost control of his 2008 Nissan Altima while speeding around a bend in the road. The Nissan slid, left the roadway, and hit a tree after crashing into a ditch.
Stout died at the scene of the accident. Officials have not yet commented on the nature of his injuries.
A full investigation is underway to determine what might have caused the victim to lose control of his vehicle.
