Woman killed in 2-vehicle crash with fire truck at Melrose and Greenvale

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police say a woman died in a Tuesday morning collision involving an Oklahoma City fire truck and a sedan on the west side of the city.
According to KOCO News 5, the incident happened just before 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Melrose Lane and Greenvale Road in the Greenvale area.
Officials say the firefighters in the truck were responding to an emergency call in the area when a vehicle entered the intersection and crashed into the truck.
Medics transported the driver of the sedan to a local hospital, but she died a short time later from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
None of the firefighters involved in the accident were hurt.
Police are investigating what might have led the woman to enter the intersection.
